A new idea for independent baby retail

More families should find your baby store.

Village Stork is exploring an online network where families can discover independent baby stores, build registries, and buy from the retailers behind the advice.

We’re speaking with store owners now to understand where sales are being lost—and what would actually help.

The problems we want to understand

You help families get ready.
What helps your store grow?

These are the challenges we’re investigating. Tell us which ones matter in your store, and what we’ve missed.

Advice in your store. A purchase elsewhere?

You help a family choose a stroller or car seat. They buy it online, or add it to a registry that sends the sale elsewhere. Does that happen in your store?

The right store. Hard to find online?

Families may search for a product without discovering the independent store that carries it nearby. Is reaching those shoppers a challenge for you?

Products on your shelves. Buyers out of reach?

Stock can sit even when there may be demand beyond your regular customers. Would a wider audience help, once shipping, returns, and margins are considered?

A little more detail

Before you share.

What is Village Stork?

Village Stork is a new venture exploring an online network for independent baby stores. The idea is to help families discover stores, create baby registries, and buy from independent retailers. We’re gathering store-owner input before choosing what to test first.

Who are you looking to hear from?

Owners and teams at existing brick-and-mortar baby stores, whether you sell only in person or also online. We’re focusing on stores that are already operating.

Is there a service to join today?

The network has not launched. This is an invitation to share your experience and, if you choose, hear about a future pilot. There is no fee or obligation to take part.

How would sales and fulfillment work?

That is part of what we need to learn from retailers. Checkout, fees, inventory connections, and delivery options are still being evaluated. A useful model needs to fit the way stores actually operate.

What about my supplier agreements?

They would need to shape any future model. Sharing your perspective does not authorize us to list your products or sell on your behalf. We are not affiliated with any baby brand and do not need copies of your contracts.

What happens after I respond?

We’ll use your answers to identify priorities for a first pilot. You can separately choose a conversation, a future pilot invitation, or occasional updates. We will not publish your identifiable response without permission.
